“Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps His covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes His unfailing love on those who love Him and obey His commandments.” –Deuteronomy 7:9 (NLT)
Life can be filled with questions such as which college to go to, where to work after graduation, how to pay the next bill, what to cook for dinner, or simply what to do next – and the list goes on. It is in these moments that fear and doubt will try to knock on the door of our minds and cloud our perspectives. But it is also in these moments that God just wants us to let go of everything and hold His hand. To let God take over and to trust in Him completely.
There are so many uncertainties in life but we can be sure that we have a certain God. He is “the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End” [Revelation 1:8, NKJV] Our God knows the beginning and the end of every life story. He sees every struggle and every victory and every thing in between. He knows every need and every heart’s desire before they are even said.
He “is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?” [Numbers 23:19, NLT]. Our God is faithful in fulfilling His promises to His children, in accordance to His perfect plans. His plans are to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us a future and a hope [see Jeremiah 29:11]. Although we may not know what our future holds, we can surely trust and believe in the One who holds our future. Because the God who promised those words is the same living God whom we serve today.
Prayer: Lord, help us to trust in Your ways and to see things from Your perspective. Comfort us with peace and joy from You alone, knowing that You are in control over everything and You know what’s best for us. We receive the victory because we are Your children and You hold our lives in the very palm of Your hands. We thank You for being our faithful God and our good, good Father. Be glorified in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
