“I set My rainbow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.” –Genesis 9:13 (AMP)
In Hebrews 11:1, FAITH is described as “being sure of the things we hope for. [It] means knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.” Have you ever faced a challenge and not know what will happen next? Have you ever dealt with a situation that doesn’t make sense? Sometimes God will call us to do something out of our comfort zone or He will allow circumstances in our lives that we cannot understand.
In the story of Noah, God commanded him to build an ark amidst the dry season (see Genesis 6-9:17). Despite of the people questioning him for his actions, Noah obeyed God and built the ark. Sometimes living by faith means making decisions that don’t seem logical or practical from the worldly perspective. In 2 Corinthians 5:7, it is written “for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises].” To “walk by faith, not by sight” means to believe in God’s promises even if we do not see them come to pass yet. As we live by faith, God reveals His character to us. He shows us who He is – that He is real in our lives, that He is our ultimate Provider, that He is our great Healer, and that He is our good Father. Just as God provided for Noah, delivered him and his family from the storm, and kept His promise to him, God will do the same for us as we obey and believe in Him. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. As His children, we have the assurance that God will never abandon us but He is with us through it all (see Hebrews 13:5-6).
Whatever we may face in life, let’s continue to fix our eyes on JESUS, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (see Hebrews 12:2). And trust in GOD, our Promise Keeper, for He is faithful and true to His Word (see Deuteronomy 7:9). There wouldn’t be a great testimony if there wasn’t a great test nor a beautiful rainbow after a strong storm. Take heart, hope is alive!
Prayer: Father, we praise You for the trials and victories in our lives. We thank You for never leaving us nor forsaking us. Help us to remain steadfast in our faith for You are in control and You are faithful to Your promises. We love You, God. Be glorified in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
