11 “For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
–Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)
Imagine someone from a professional field telling you,“I don’t know what to do about your situation. No one really knows what will happen to you” and dark clouds suddenly envelop you. Oftentimes, negative thoughts and emotions immediately fill our minds and hearts when we face difficult times. We all deal with scarred lives, broken relationships, hopeless situations, and uncertainties in our future. But in Jeremiah 29:11, God assures us that HE KNOWS the plans and the thoughts He has for us. His promise declares a future (with plans to prosper us) and a hope for us. HOPE that holds onto God’s promises (see Romans 4:18). HOPE that does not disappoint us (see Romans 5:1-5). HOPE that believes even without seeing (see Hebrews 11:1). HOPE that has a name and that name is JESUS, our Hope of glory (see Colossians 1:27).
Whatever we may be facing in our present lives, God will reveal His greater glory to us and in us (see Romans 8:18). Be encouraged in God’s promise of HOPE in our lives, in our families, in our situations, in our schools, in our work places, in our ministries, and in our church. As mentioned in the preaching last week, HOPE is ALIVE because JESUS is ALIVE and HOPE lives in us because JESUS lives in us! Be empowered, world changers!
Prayer: Father, we give thanks for all the circumstances in our lives. We rejoice in the victory ahead of us for we know that You are for us. We trust that You know what is best for us and that You are faithful to complete what You have begun in us. We thank You for Your perfect peace that guards our hearts as put our hope in You. We love You, Father. Be glorified in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
