With God’s best in His perfect time

It was January 23, 2010 when I first heard this verse from my second spiritual mother and ever since then, I never forgot about it…

“Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right.”

Song of Solomon 8:4 (NLT)

I was 13 years old and yet I already knew in my heart that someday, in God’s perfect time, He will lead me to His best for me. I remember earnestly praying to God that He protect my heart and desiring that I will be courted by just one man, which is His best for me. It was a prayer by a teenage girl to her heavenly Father, asking Him to spare her from all the heartaches and break ups of wrong relationships.

Now that I’m 20, I thank the Father for being so faithful and for answering my prayer. 😄 Throughout the years, God has taught me the importance of finding my identity in Him. And as I continue my walk with the Lord and wait upon Him, I pray that He will continue to guard my heart and preserve me with purity as He prepares me and does the same to His best for me – whoever he is. Surely, in God’s perfect time, He will make all things beautiful [see Ecclesiastes 3:11].

Of course, I won’t disclose my whole prayer publicly but I do want to pray particularly for every young person who will read this. My prayer is that every girl (and also every boy) will find his/her confidence in the Lord and not on any external outlet. I pray that you will find completeness in the Father’s love. I pray that you will have your eyes fixed on Jesus and grow in your spiritual walk with the Lord. I pray that you will encounter the Master first, know of your personal mission, and completely trust in Him in the aspect of having a mate. After all, God is All-knowing and Sovereign – let Him lead you in the life story He has prepared for you, long before you were even born.

As my spiritual parents always share: Master. Mission. Mate.

In Christ,

Justine Anne
