Wait upon the Lord

“With all my heart,

I am waiting, LORD, for you!

I trust Your promises.”

Psalm 130:5 (CEV)

Waiting for the bus. Waiting for dinner. Waiting for a friend. Waiting for a monthly paycheck. Every day we face circumstances wherein our patience get tested and yet we look forward with hope because we know what we’re waiting for, will eventually come. When we wait upon the Lord, not only is our patience tested, but also our faith. It is during the waiting period that the enemy will try to whisper lies, doubts, and negative thoughts to us. And all the more, we need to fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith [see Hebrews 12:2].

Because it is in those moments that as we wait upon the Lord and be still in His presence, that our faith will increase and the greater glory of God will be revealed. It is also in those moments when God seems silent and there’s no progress at all, that God is actually moving His hand. All we have to do is put our complete trust in Him, who is All-knowing and Sovereign overall. Our heavenly Father loves us and equally favors each and every one of us. As God’s children, we can rest in the assurance that our Father will fulfill His promises to us. Let’s keep holding onto God’s hand, knowing and believing that He will never leave us nor forsake us. His perfect plans of a future with hope [see Jeremiah 29:11] will surely come to pass as we trust in Him. No matter how long we have to wait, let’s rest in believing that God is never late nor early but He is always on time. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!

Prayer: Lord, help us to be still in Your presence and to trust in Your Mighty hand to move. Give us peace and joy amidst our circumstances, for You are our faithful God, who makes and fulfills His promises to His children. We receive the favor and victory that is from You alone. We thank You for being our Good, Good Father. Be glorified in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

In Christ,

Justine Anne
