Connecting with the Connector

Last Sunday, our pastor shared about “Power Up Connections” and how (1) We were created to connect to God, (2) We were designed to connect with people in God’s house, (3) We were made to connect with people in school or at work, and (4) We were born to connect with our own family. Reflecting on the message, God has impressed that it is only by connecting to Him first that we will walk in the right direction and manifest His love through our connections.

In Mark 1:35, Jesus began His day by connecting to God first, “Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” And in Matthew 14:23, Jesus connected to God after doing His ministry, “And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray…” Both verses show how Jesus knew the importance of connecting to the Father. How was Jesus able to connect with the multitudes who needed to know of the Father’s love? How was Jesus able to connect with people who needed healing and deliverance? How was Jesus able to connect with people who needed to know of the Father’s mercy and grace? How was Jesus able to connect with His family and His disciples? The answer – Jesus connected to God first AND kept His connection to God…

The same goes for us…by connecting to God first, He will be the One to connect us with our loved ones through His love. Having a personal connection with the Father will lead us to having Him the center of our family. By connecting to God first, He will be the One to connect us with the people He wants us to reach out and minister to in whatever mission field He has placed us in. Having a personal connection with the Father will guide us in sharing the Gospel to those around us. By connecting to God first, He will be the One to connect us with the people He wants us to disciple and serve with for His glory. Having a personal connection with the Father will enable us to hear His Spirit and discern His calling for us. By connecting to God first, He will be our Connector to everyone and everything that is aligned with His path for us. Overall, by connecting to God, we will be filled with His Spirit and be transformed and then, we will know His good and acceptable and pleasing will for our lives. So, let’s not conform to the pattern of this world but let’s continue to be transformed into the likeness of His Son Jesus and manifest His love through our connections. POWER UP, World Changers!!!

In Christ,

Justine Anne
